Welcome!
Hello, my name is Abbie, and I’m an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and an Advanced Sensory Integration (SI) Practitioner, passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive.
I have experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. I work with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Dyspraxia / Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), supporting them to work towards meaningful goals and participate in everyday activities that matter most to them.
I work with a neuro-affirming and child-centred approach, tailored to individuals’ needs & interests, celebrating strengths while supporting areas of need.
How can I help?
Occupational Therapy (OT) is all about helping people join in with what they need or want to be able to do. OT's work in lots of different places to help people of all ages.
I work in schools and colleges to help children & teenagers to be as independent as possible, when they are finding something that is important to them difficult.
I use a sensory integration based approach when carrying out OT. This is a play based approach that includes exposure to sensory input & physical activities such as moving & balancing.
Sensory Integration Therapy (SIT) is all about helping children understand & respond to the world around them, when sensory challenges are impacting upon everyday activities.

My mission
My overall mission is to genuinely make a difference to the lives of children and young people by helping individuals learn, play and socialise to the best of their abilities. Through fostering an effective therapeutic relationship & truly understanding the child's strengths & areas of need, I collaboratively set meaningful goals with individuals & their families, focused around what they want or need to be able to achieve. My mission is to truly "get on the child's level" and understand their perspective & help them work towards what matters most.
